{"id":21768,"date":"2016-10-18T09:00:46","date_gmt":"2016-10-18T12:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/patagoniambiental.com.ar\/?p=21768"},"modified":"2016-10-18T09:00:46","modified_gmt":"2016-10-18T12:00:46","slug":"identifican-nuevos-modelos-de-prediccion-del-tiempo-capaces-de-pronosticar-cambios-con-un-ano-de-antelacion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/patagoniambiental.com.ar\/info\/identifican-nuevos-modelos-de-prediccion-del-tiempo-capaces-de-pronosticar-cambios-con-un-ano-de-antelacion\/","title":{"rendered":"Identifican nuevos modelos de predicci\u00f3n del tiempo capaces de pronosticar cambios con un a\u00f1o de antelaci\u00f3n"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"entradilla\">Cient\u00edficos en el Reino Unido han identificado nuevos modelos de predicci\u00f3n del tiempo capaces de pronosticar cambios con hasta un a\u00f1o de antelaci\u00f3n, seg\u00fan revela un estudio publicado hoy por la revista Nature.<\/p>\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n, desarrollada por expertos del Centro de Meteorolog\u00eda Oce Hadley de Exeter (suroeste de Inglaterra), ofrece <em>\u201cnuevas posibilidades\u201d<\/em> a los diferentes servicios climatol\u00f3gicos a los que recurren una amplia gama de sectores, destacan los autores.<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo, exponen, podr\u00edan ser de especial utilidad para empresas de <em>\u201ctransporte, energ\u00e9ticas, de gesti\u00f3n del agua o para compa\u00f1\u00edas aseguradoras\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>El estudio recuerda que la Oscilaci\u00f3n del Atl\u00e1ntico Norte invernal (NAO, siglas en ingl\u00e9s) es el principal<em>\u201cmodo de variabilidad atmosf\u00e9rica\u201d<\/em> en la regi\u00f3n del Atl\u00e1ntico Norte y que, en consecuencia, tiene una<em>\u201cgran influencia\u201d<\/em> sobre el clima en Europa y Norteam\u00e9rica en esa estaci\u00f3n del a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>Este fen\u00f3meno meteorol\u00f3gico, basado en la diferencia de presi\u00f3n entre el <strong>anticicl\u00f3n de las Azores<\/strong> y la<strong>depresi\u00f3n de Islandia<\/strong>, determina el clima de todo el continente europeo, ya que cuando ambos son muy potentes los inviernos son suaves y h\u00famedos en Europa, mientras que cuando son d\u00e9biles, tienden a ser secos y fr\u00edos.<\/p>\n<p>Hasta hace poco, se cre\u00eda que la variabilidad estacional de la NAO estaba provocada, en gran medida,<em>\u201cpor procesos ca\u00f3ticos e inherentemente impredecibles\u201d<\/em>, explican los expertos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo obstante -apuntan-, la \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n de sistemas de predicci\u00f3n estacional han demostrado tener una gran capacidad para pronosticar con precisi\u00f3n la Oscilaci\u00f3n del Atl\u00e1ntico Norte un mes antes de la llegada del invierno\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Al hilo de estos avances, el<em> \u201cMet Office Oce Hadley Centre\u201d<\/em> ha logrado <em>\u201cextender las predicciones precisas\u201d<\/em> de esos modelos din\u00e1micos a <em>\u201cm\u00e1s de un a\u00f1o de antelaci\u00f3n\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>En este sentido, los expertos lograron identificar <strong><em>\u201cdos fuentes de estudio\u201d<\/em> <\/strong>que mejoraron notablemente la precisi\u00f3n de los pron\u00f3sticos de la NAO para <em>\u201clos segundos inviernos\u201d<\/em>, es decir, a un a\u00f1o vista.<\/p>\n<p>Una de ellas proviene del an\u00e1lisis de la <em>\u201cvariabilidad clim\u00e1tica\u201d<\/em> que se registra en la regi\u00f3n del <em>\u201cPac\u00edfico tropical\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>La segunda se refiere a los<em> \u201cefectos predecibles\u201d<\/em> que la energ\u00eda solar provoca sobre la <em>\u201cfuerza del v\u00f3rtice polar estratosf\u00e9rico\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Asimismo, los investigadores identificaron <em>\u201cdesviaciones en los modelos\u201d<\/em> aplicados sobre el <strong>hielo marino del \u00c1rtico<\/strong> que, en caso de <em>\u201creducirse\u201d<\/em>, podr\u00edan servir para mejorar la precisi\u00f3n de los pron\u00f3sticos basados en la NAO.
