2017, con lo que se consolidar\u00e1n en el mayor comprador corporativo de electricidad limpia.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>En un comunicado Google asegur\u00f3 que ya es \u00abel mayor comprador corporativo mundial de energ\u00eda renovables\u00bb, con una demanda de 2,6 gigawatios de electricidad de fuentes e\u00f3lica y solar.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Este nivel es dos veces mayor al siguiente en la lista: el gigante de la distribuci\u00f3n y comercio online Amazon.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Google afirm\u00f3 que est\u00e1n en camino de poder obtener el 100% de toda su necesidad energ\u00e9tica de fuentes renovables, incluyendo sus grandes centros de datos y servidores y sus oficinas en todo el mundo.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>En un post en el blog de la empresa, Google explic\u00f3 que el hito comenz\u00f3 a tomar forma en 2010, cuando empezaron a invertir en el sector de las energ\u00edas renovables con la compra de un parque e\u00f3lico en Iowa, Estados Unidos.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Adem\u00e1s, Google se comprometi\u00f3 a comprar energ\u00eda limpia por el equivalente de todo su consumo mundial de electricidad, incentivando as\u00ed un sector necesitado a\u00fan de ayudas para competir con los combustibles f\u00f3siles.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Esa inversi\u00f3n, seg\u00fan la empresa, contribuy\u00f3 a que el precio de las renovables sea cada vez menor.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00abEn los \u00faltimos seis a\u00f1os, el precio de la energ\u00eda e\u00f3lica y solar baj\u00f3 un 60 y un 80%, respectivamente, por lo que ahora las renovables son una opci\u00f3n de bajo coste\u00bb, indic\u00f3 en el blog Urs Holzle, vicepresidente de Infraestructura T\u00e9cnica de Google.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00abHasta la fecha, nuestro compromiso conlleva unas inversiones en infraestructuras (renovables) de m\u00e1s de 3.500 millones de d\u00f3lares en todo el mundo, con dos tercios de ese monto en Estados Unidos\u00bb,
