Un nuevo sistema permite almacenar el calor del verano para usarlo en invierno.<span id=\"more-10990\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>El calor abrasa en verano. Las altas temperaturas se vuelven una molestia, un tedio insoportable. Se disfrutan las vacaciones en la playa, pero se padece la rutina en la ciudad. Se a\u00f1ora el invierno. Un poco de fr\u00edo que compense. Aunque, cuando la estaci\u00f3n se modifica, el proceso es inverso. Ah\u00ed es cuando el calor de verano deja de ser una incomodidad para transforme en una necesidad.<\/p>\n<p>Investigadores de los Laboratorios Federales Suizos de Ciencia y Tecnolog\u00eda de Materiales (EMPA) desarrollaron una nueva tecnolog\u00eda que se dedica a almacenar el calor del verano para utilizarlo, a modo de calefacci\u00f3n, en invierno. El sistema captura el calor <a href=\"http:\/\/biodiesel.com.ar\/tag\/solar\">solar<\/a> en forma de <a href=\"http:\/\/biodiesel.com.ar\/category\/energia\">energ\u00eda<\/a> qu\u00edmica y luego lo libera para su uso en los meses m\u00e1s fr\u00edos.<\/p>\n<p>Al almacenar energ\u00eda qu\u00edmicamente, la tecnolog\u00eda tiene una vida \u00fatil m\u00e1s larga que otros sistemas tradicionales. A su vez, debido a que el sistema se basa en elementos y equipos comunes, el costo para implementarlo es relativamente bajo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benjamin Fumey<\/strong>, responsable del proyecto, se\u00f1al\u00f3 que este nuevo m\u00e9todo \u201cpermitir\u00e1 100% de calefacci\u00f3n solar para los edificios que almacenen el calor del verano para la demanda del invierno\u201d. A su vez, remarc\u00f3: \u201cPodr\u00eda marcar un paso crucial hacia el aumento del uso de energ\u00eda renovable en el hogar\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo funciona?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>El sistema transforma el calor en un l\u00edquido compuesto de agua e hidr\u00f3xido de sodio s\u00f3lido (<strong>NaOH<\/strong>) diluido al 50%. \u201cSi se vierte agua en un contenedor que contenga NaOH, la mezcla se calienta, es decir que la soluci\u00f3n descarga energ\u00eda qu\u00edmica en forma de calor\u201d, explicaron los responsables del sistema.<\/p>\n<p>El <strong>NaOH<\/strong>, por su capacidad de atraer mol\u00e9culas del aire, es capaz de absorber vapor de agua, lo cual contribuye a aumentar su temperatura a\u00fan m\u00e1s. \u201cSi la soluci\u00f3n diluida en agua se alimenta con energ\u00eda proveniente de <a href=\"http:\/\/biodiesel.com.ar\/category\/paneles-solares\">paneles solares<\/a>, por ejemplo, la humedad se evapora r\u00e1pidamente, aumentando la concentraci\u00f3n de calor. Esta mezcla concentrada puede ser conservada durante muchos a\u00f1os\u201d, se\u00f1alaron.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A medida que se a\u00f1ade agua, el equipo libera mayor calor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La tecnolog\u00eda funciona a partir de un tubo en forma de espiral. Dentro de ella, circula agua que ya est\u00e1 caliente gracias a la acci\u00f3n de paneles solares. El agua se dirige a la soluci\u00f3n de hidr\u00f3xido s\u00f3dico y absorbe el calor, por lo que se evapora. A medida que se agrega agua, el dispositivo libera mayor calor.<\/p>\n<p>El equipo responsable del invento ahora se encuentra a la espera de financiaci\u00f3n que permita extrapolar la tecnolog\u00eda a la comodidad del hogar.
