{"id":30895,"date":"2017-06-23T09:00:28","date_gmt":"2017-06-23T12:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/patagoniambiental.com.ar\/info\/?p=30895"},"modified":"2017-06-23T00:11:28","modified_gmt":"2017-06-23T03:11:28","slug":"investigadores-chilenos-desarrollan-super-vegetales-con-bacterias-antarticas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/patagoniambiental.com.ar\/info\/investigadores-chilenos-desarrollan-super-vegetales-con-bacterias-antarticas\/","title":{"rendered":"Investigadores chilenos desarrollan \u201cs\u00faper vegetales\u201d con bacterias ant\u00e1rticas"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"notafull\" class=\"notafull\">\n<div id=\"ncuerpo\" class=\"ncuerpo\">\n<p>Ar\u00e1ndanos capaces de soportar potentes heladas en el invierno del Valle Central, verduras que toleran suelos salinos y las cada vez m\u00e1s escasas precipitaciones, o que crecen de manera normal en situaciones de estr\u00e9s h\u00eddrico o sequ\u00eda; estas son algunas de las caracter\u00edsticas de los \u201cs\u00faper vegetales\u201d desarrollados por investigadores del N\u00facleo Milenio Centro de Ecolog\u00eda Molecular y Aplicaciones Evolutivas en Agroecosistemas (CEM) y del Instituto de Ciencias Biol\u00f3gicas de la Universidad de Talca.<\/p>\n<p>Para llegar a ello, han estudiado la gen\u00e9tica de plantas que sobreviven a las inclemencias de la zona ant\u00e1rtica, luego inocularon frutales y hortalizas para darles caracter\u00edsticas \u00fanicas de desarrollo y tolerancia ambiental.<\/p>\n<p>Marco Molina-Montenegro, Investigador del CEM y acad\u00e9mico del Instituto de Ciencias Biol\u00f3gicas, es el l\u00edder de este trabajo. Ha realizado siete viajes a la Ant\u00e1rtica para estudiar c\u00f3mo la flora de esta zona es capaz de sobrevivir al fr\u00edo, la poca agua, que se encuentra mayormente congelada, y los pocos nutrientes disponibles en el suelo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMi trabajo es utilizar a la Ant\u00e1rtica como un laboratorio natural. All\u00ed, con estudiantes de pre y postgrado, extraemos biorecursos como hongos y bacterias, busc\u00e1ndoles una aplicaci\u00f3n. Ac\u00e1 vemos que con la inoculaci\u00f3n de estos microorganismos se les confiere tolerancia, por ejemplo, en los ar\u00e1ndanos a las heladas evitando que se mueran o se inoculen vegetales como lechugas y tomates con hongos, para aumentar su productividad ahorrando agua\u201d, explica el acad\u00e9mico.<\/p>\n<p>Por otra parte, existen otras plantas que al inocularlas con microorganismos generan una simbiosis lo cual permitir\u00eda abastecerlas con agua levemente desalinizada para que puedan desarrollarse normalmente. \u201cEstamos tratando de generar algunas herramientas biotecnol\u00f3gicas en base a esta investigaci\u00f3n no s\u00f3lo para el sector agr\u00edcola, sino que tambi\u00e9n para el \u00e1rea forestal a trav\u00e9s de planes pilotos de reforestaci\u00f3n con \u00e1rboles inoculados con estos microorganismos\u201d, a\u00f1ade el acad\u00e9mico.<\/p>\n<p>El \u00faltimo trabajo publicado por el docente consiste en inocular plantas de lechugas con hongos ant\u00e1rticos. De esta manera profundiza en los mecanismos moleculares que inducen estos sobre las plantas. Esta simbiosis permiti\u00f3 un ahorro del 20% de agua para la obtenci\u00f3n de individuos comerciales, lo que implica disminuci\u00f3n de costos para agricultura que, si se considera en cultivos de cientos de hect\u00e1reas, constituye una alta eficiencia. Adem\u00e1s, se logra acelerar el proceso de cosecha y, de esta manera, agregar un cuarto ciclo anual de los tres normales.<\/p>\n<p><strong>M\u00e9todo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La t\u00e9cnica seg\u00fan Molina, consiste en tomar las ra\u00edces de plantas de la Ant\u00e1rtica y, con medios de esterilizaci\u00f3n, se extraen los hongos y se agregan a medios de cultivos llanos para hongos o bacterias. Luego, en un cepario se identifican qu\u00e9 tipos de microorganismos posee. Antarctica<\/p>\n<p>Los microorganismos que pueden venir desde las hojas o ra\u00edces, se pican en pedacitos, se enfrascan y comienzan a crecer para ser extra\u00eddos, conocer su especie y luego ser inyectadas a trav\u00e9s de un medio acuoso.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn 3 a\u00f1os se han obtenido lechugas de calibre comercial de casi un 20 por ciento menos de agua y un 20 por ciento menos de tiempo. Si gastamos la misma agua con verduras inoculadas con estos microorganismos, son un 15% m\u00e1s grandes\u201d, concluye el profesor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fuente:<\/strong> <a
