EFE\/Cortes\u00eda SpaceX<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Sin embargo, las modificaciones en el periodo de un mes son m\u00ednimas, por lo que\u00a0<em>\u201clo interesante\u201d<\/em>\u00a0para estudiar ser\u00e1n los n\u00fameros agregados en fases m\u00e1s amplias, declar\u00f3 el cient\u00edfico jefe de la misi\u00f3n, Frank Webb en una rueda de prensa previa al lanzamiento.<\/p>\n<h2>Dos sat\u00e9lites<\/h2>\n<p>A diferencia de otros sat\u00e9lites de observaci\u00f3n de la Tierra, que llevan instrumentos que observan una parte del espectro electromagn\u00e9tico, los dos sat\u00e9lites de la Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment Follow-On (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/gracefo?f=tweets&amp;vertical=default&amp;src=hash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GRACE-FO<\/a>) son en s\u00ed el instrumento.<\/p>\n<p>A partir de los datos recogidos por estos sat\u00e9lites, los investigadores producir\u00e1n mapas mensuales de agua y cambio de masa mediante la combinaci\u00f3n de esta informaci\u00f3n con las mediciones de GPS y las medidas del aceler\u00f3metro de otras fuerzas, como la resistencia atmosf\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n<h2>C\u00f3mo se mueve el agua en la Tierra:2012\/2017<\/h2>\n<p>La lanzada hoy es la segunda fase de la misi\u00f3n GRACE, que complet\u00f3 15 a\u00f1os de exploraci\u00f3n espacial en enero de 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Esa misi\u00f3n\u00a0<em>\u201crevolucionaria\u201d,<\/em>\u00a0lanzada en 2012, sent\u00f3 las bases de la comprensi\u00f3n del movimiento del agua en la Tierra en profundidad, la misma meta que persigue ahora la segunda parte de la exploraci\u00f3n de la NASA.<\/p>\n<div class=\"box shadow\">\n<div class=\"box-inner-block\"><i class=\"tieicon-boxicon\"><\/i>GRACE midi\u00f3 la p\u00e9rdida de hielo en la Ant\u00e1rtida, identific\u00f3 patrones en el cambio del nivel del mar, descubri\u00f3 anomal\u00edas en el almacenamiento de agua subterr\u00e1nea y monitore\u00f3 la sequ\u00eda de entre 2011 y 2017 en California.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Estos hallazgos fueron \u201cmuy importantes\u201d para la comunidad cient\u00edfica, no solo por las m\u00e1s de 30.000 publicaciones que gener\u00f3, sino porque sirvi\u00f3 para dar los primeros pasos para mejorar la comprensi\u00f3n hacia una mejor administraci\u00f3n del agua.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_108772\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-108772\" src=\"https:\/\/www.efeverde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/GRACEFO-NASA-GFZ-AGUA.jpg\" alt=\"La misi\u00f3n GRACE-FO esta financiada por la NASA y el Centro Alem\u00e1n de Investigaci\u00f3n en Geociencias (GFZ). \" width=\"288\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">La misi\u00f3n GRACE-FO esta financiada por la NASA y el Centro Alem\u00e1n de Investigaci\u00f3n en Geociencias (GFZ). EFE\/Cortes\u00eda SpaceX\/<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Ahora contin\u00faa GRACE-FO<\/h2>\n<p>La sucesora GRACE-FO continuar\u00e1 realizando investigaciones sobre el clima y la capa acu\u00e1tica de la Tierra gracias a los dos sat\u00e9lites con una capacidad altamente precisa de seguimiento a distancia y un interfer\u00f3metro de rango l\u00e1ser (LRI, en ingl\u00e9s), un equipo que permite realizar medidas topogr\u00e1ficas en tres dimensiones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLos recursos h\u00eddricos son vitales para la vida en la Tierra y la manera en que las civilizaciones han actuado. Es muy importante entender c\u00f3mo est\u00e1n cambiando estos recursos\u201d, sintetiz\u00f3 Webb ante los periodistas en las horas previas al lanzamiento.<\/p>\n<p>La misi\u00f3n tendr\u00e1 un
