{"id":63318,"date":"2019-09-27T19:00:07","date_gmt":"2019-09-27T22:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/patagoniambiental.com.ar\/info\/?p=63318"},"modified":"2019-09-26T15:51:54","modified_gmt":"2019-09-26T18:51:54","slug":"el-futuro-de-las-energias-renovables-esta-en-los-mares","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/patagoniambiental.com.ar\/info\/el-futuro-de-las-energias-renovables-esta-en-los-mares\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00bfEl futuro de las energ\u00edas renovables est\u00e1 en los mares?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Costa Rica.-En 2018, Costa Rica bati\u00f3 su r\u00e9cord de producci\u00f3n de electricidad limpia: el pa\u00eds se abasteci\u00f3 exclusivamente de energ\u00edas renovables durante trescientos d\u00edas consecutivos.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El suministro el\u00e9ctrico de Islandia, por su parte, ayudada por la energ\u00eda geotermal, es pr\u00e1cticamente 100% renovable durante todo el a\u00f1o, mientras que Noruega ocupa una posici\u00f3n similar gracias a su potente parque de aerogeneradores.<\/p>\n<p>La implantaci\u00f3n de energ\u00edas renovables sigue aumentando a\u00f1o a a\u00f1o y, adem\u00e1s de la mayor eficiencia de energ\u00edas como la fotovoltaica, comienzan a explorarse otras fuentes de energ\u00eda limpia alternativas. Las \u00faltimas noticias en torno a la energ\u00eda mareomotriz, es decir, la obtenida a trav\u00e9s de las mareas, invitan a pensar que el futuro de la energ\u00eda limpia est\u00e1 en los mares.<\/p>\n<p>En 2018 se anunci\u00f3 que la planta experimental de Orkney, en la costa de Escocia, hab\u00eda generado un total de 3GW en doce meses, batiendo todos los r\u00e9cords de producci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda mareomotriz. El modelo SR2000 de Orbital Marine Power utiliza turbinas instaladas en una plataforma flotante que giran con el movimiento de las mareas.<\/p>\n<p>Y no solo eso, este a\u00f1o, tambi\u00e9n en las costas escocesas, se instalar\u00e1 la mayor turbina de este tipo hasta la fecha, aunque fijada en el lecho marino, con aspas de veinte metros de largo y un peso total de ciento cincuenta toneladas.<\/p>\n<p>Esta acci\u00f3n se enmarca en el proyecto Stroma, iniciado en el a\u00f1o 2010, que tiene prevista una capacidad de generaci\u00f3n m\u00e1xima que bordea los 400 MW, lo que lo convierte en el mayor parque de energ\u00eda mareomotriz del planeta.<\/p>\n<p>Opciones existentes actuales de energ\u00edas renovables marinas<br \/>\nEnerg\u00eda mareomotriz<br \/>\nTal como se ha apuntado, el mar ofrece una gigantesca fuente de energ\u00eda renovable: la de las mareas. \u00bfSu gran ventaja? Mientras exista la Luna y la fuerza de la gravedad, habr\u00e1 mareas regulares que permitan generar electricidad de manera fiable y constante.<\/p>\n<p>Algunos de los principales sistemas mareomotrices operan de manera similar a lo aerogeneradores: por medio de turbinas sumergidas que se mueven gracias a la subida y bajada de las mareas. Ser\u00edan los llamados Tidal Stream Generators (TSG).<\/p>\n<p>Otra opci\u00f3n m\u00e1s costosa de energ\u00eda renovable marina son las presas de marea, que funcionan como una central hidroel\u00e9ctrica, pero aprovechando las mareas en lugar de un r\u00edo.<\/p>\n<p>Energ\u00eda undimotriz<br \/>\nAunque los primeros proyectos tecnol\u00f3gicos para aprovechar la energ\u00eda cin\u00e9tica de las olas datan de finales del siglo XIX, no fue hasta finales del siglo XX cuando empezaron a instalarse las primeras plantas de energ\u00eda undimotriz en Noruega y la costa de Escocia.<\/p>\n<p>Aunque la segunda de ellas, bautizada como Islay LIMPET, cerr\u00f3 en 2012, tomar\u00edan el testigo otras similares como la de Vizcaya, en la costa cant\u00e1brica espa\u00f1ola, en el a\u00f1o 2011. Hoy existe un centenar de plantas de energ\u00eda renovable experimentales por todo el mundo que aprovechan la energ\u00eda de las olas.<\/p>\n<p>Principales tipos de energ\u00edas renovables de tecnolog\u00eda undimotriz<br \/>\nSistema Pelamis (atenuadores): Esta especie de culebra flotante, no en vano su nombre proviene de la serpiente marina pelamis platurus, consiste en una serie de cilindros unidos por bisagras que oscilan en la superficie en funci\u00f3n del movimiento de las olas. Una de sus mayores ventajas es el escaso mantenimiento.<br \/>\nPato de Salter: Utilizando un principio similar al Pelamis, se trata de una hilera de boyas con forma de cu\u00f1a (o pico de pato), ancladas al fondo marino, que suben y bajan con el movimiento de las olas en la superficie a modo de pist\u00f3n.<br \/>\nSistema mWave: En este caso, se instala una plataforma en el lecho marino que contiene una c\u00e1mara de aire. La plataforma cuenta con una serie de membranas en los laterales que se contraen y expanden en funci\u00f3n del oleaje, con lo que empujan el aire del interior que mueve una turbina en uno de los extremos.<br \/>\nLa ostra (conversor oscilante de oleaje): Instalado en aguas poco profundas de la costa, se trata de un oscilador en vertical que est\u00e1 conectado por medio de bisagras a una plataforma horizontal en el lecho marino y que bombea agua a una central hidroel\u00e9ctrica en tierra firme.<br \/>\nColumna de agua oscilante: Esta tecnolog\u00eda para generar energ\u00eda renovable se instala en la costa, dejando una c\u00e1mara por la que entra el oleaje, que empuja el aire y mueve una turbina.<br \/>\nHabr\u00e1 que seguir de cerca este tipo de iniciativas de energ\u00edas renovables, ya que podr\u00edan constituir una fuente estable y eficiente de energ\u00eda limpia que permita la transici\u00f3n hacia un modelo energ\u00e9tico m\u00e1s
