La plataforma de hielo Ross ayuda a reducir la velocidad del flujo de aproximadamente una quinta parte del hielo que descansa en el continente austral.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Tras realizar simulaciones por computadora el equipo pudo determinar c\u00f3mo la geolog\u00eda recientemente descubierta afecta las corrientes submarinas.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><strong>Seg\u00fan los especialistas explica lo siguiente:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<p><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8951331513563237\" data-ad-slot=\"6033818369\" data-adsbygoogle-status=\"done\"><ins id=\"aswift_1_expand\"><ins id=\"aswift_1_anchor\"><\/ins><\/ins><\/ins>Poca agua caliente llega a la plataforma de hielo, pero las corrientes de agua fr\u00eda pueden llegar a las partes m\u00e1s profundas de los glaciares de la Ant\u00e1rtida Oriental, lo que hace que se derritan.<\/center><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">\u00a0Estas corrientes se detienen en el l\u00edmite descubierto, por lo que los glaciares de la Ant\u00e1rtida Occidental est\u00e1n a salvo por ahora.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Un descubrimiento m\u00e1s preocupante es que el frente de la plataforma de hielo est\u00e1 en riesgo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">De acuerdo con un estudio, la roca situada entre el este y oeste de la Ant\u00e1rtida cre\u00f3 una divisi\u00f3n bajo el continente que protege a la barrera de cambio clim\u00e1tico, se fundi\u00f3 en suficiente agua como para cubrir Texas a una profundidad de casi cuatro
