Seg\u00fan datos de\u00a0<strong>National Geographic Society<\/strong>, los\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rutadelosparques.us19.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=b3fc4740a166af6a45472e761&amp;id=036399d413&amp;e=5927127054\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">17 parques que hay entre Puerto Montt y Cabo de Hornos<\/a>, almacenan 6.608 millones de toneladas m\u00e9tricas de carbono, que equivalen a casi el 30% del carbono total del suelo y la biomasa de todo Chile. Con 26 mil toneladas m\u00e9tricas por kil\u00f3metro cuadrado, Chile\u00a0es el segundo pa\u00eds con la densidad de carbono total m\u00e1s alta de Am\u00e9rica del Sur, luego de\u00a0Colombia, que registra 26,5 mil toneladas m\u00e9tricas por kil\u00f3metro cuadrado.<\/div>\n<p><strong>Steven P. Brumby, asesor senior de visualizaci\u00f3n de datos de\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/rutadelosparques.us19.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=b3fc4740a166af6a45472e761&amp;id=0f82a7c030&amp;e=5927127054\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\"><strong>National Geographic Society<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/a>destac\u00f3 la\u00a0importancia\u00a0de estas cifras en el contexto del\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rutadelosparques.us19.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=b3fc4740a166af6a45472e761&amp;id=e1e2073267&amp;e=5927127054\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Acuerdo de Par\u00eds<\/a>, que\u00a0exige a cada\u00a0pa\u00eds\u00a0contribuir con acciones clim\u00e1ticas para limitar el calentamiento global a menos de entre 1,5 y 2 \u00b0C por encima de los niveles preindustriales.<strong>\u00a0\u201cLas 6.608 millones de toneladas m\u00e9tricas de carbono del suelo y la biomasa almacenadas en la Ruta de los Parques,\u00a0<\/strong>equivalen a casi el 30% del carbono total del suelo y la biomasa en todo Chile (22,3 mil millones de toneladas m\u00e9tricas). Preservar este suelo y el carbono de la biomasa protegido en la Ruta de los Parques de la conversi\u00f3n y emisi\u00f3n a la atm\u00f3sfera constituye una contribuci\u00f3n ambiciosa y alcanzable a la acci\u00f3n internacional de Chile para limitar el calentamiento global\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Las cifras entregadas por\u00a0<strong>National Geographic Society,<\/strong>\u00a0utilizando datos cient\u00edficos proporcionados por el UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Center, muestran el carbono almacenado hasta el momento del an\u00e1lisis en septiembre del 2019 y considera tanto la biomasa como el suelo. En el caso de la\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rutadelosparques.us19.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=b3fc4740a166af6a45472e761&amp;id=e091cd7e6c&amp;e=5927127054\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Ruta de los Parques<\/a>\u00a0el mayor aporte esta\u0301 dado por el carbono almacenado en el suelo, explicado en parte porque los procesos de descomposici\u00f3n de la materia org\u00e1nica en este territorio son m\u00e1s lentos por las bajas temperaturas.<\/p>\n<div>\n<strong>Ingrid Espinoza<\/strong>, directora de conservaci\u00f3n de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rutadelosparques.us19.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=b3fc4740a166af6a45472e761&amp;id=cb571cbb11&amp;e=5927127054\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Tompkins Conservation Chile<\/a>, destac\u00f3: \u201cLa informaci\u00f3n entregada\u00a0por National Geographic Society es muy relevante\u00a0ya que\u00a0nos permite\u00a0entender qu\u00e9\u00a0proteger, c\u00f3mo proteger, qu\u00e9 objetivos de protecci\u00f3n tener y c\u00f3mo valorar las regiones que ya est\u00e1n protegidas\u00bb. Asimismo, explic\u00f3 que estos datos \u00abindican que en promedio cada hect\u00e1rea de los parques de la Ruta de los Parques almacena 558 toneladas de carbono, y si esta cifra la comparamos con otros estudios, se puede concluir que la Ruta de los Parques almacena casi tres veces m\u00e1s carbono por hect\u00e1rea que los bosques de la Amazon\u00eda, considerando la biomasa y suelo de los bosques\u201d.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-68653 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/patagoniambiental.com.ar\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/MapaCarbonoRuta-480x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/patagoniambiental.com.ar\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/MapaCarbonoRuta.jpg 480w, https:\/\/patagoniambiental.com.ar\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/MapaCarbonoRuta-768x960.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><br \/>\nLos bosques desempe\u00f1an una funci\u00f3n decisiva para determinar la acumulaci\u00f3n de gases de efecto invernadero en la atm\u00f3sfera, ya que act\u00faan como sumideros de carbono, absorbiendo el CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0e incorpor\u00e1ndolo a trav\u00e9s de la fotos\u00edntesis a su estructura. Los parques nacionales aseguran la captura permanente de carbono. Frente a un escenario adverso, donde las emisiones de di\u00f3xido de carbono avanzan, y aumenta la deforestacio\u0301n y el cambio de uso de suelo, se vuelve cada d\u00eda m\u00e1s urgente la protecci\u00f3n de\u00a0la\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rutadelosparques.us19.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=b3fc4740a166af6a45472e761&amp;id=e5ba33f80d&amp;e=5927127054\" target=\"_blank\"
