{"id":7760,"date":"2015-02-03T19:00:44","date_gmt":"2015-02-03T22:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/patagoniambiental.com.ar\/?p=7760"},"modified":"2015-02-03T19:00:44","modified_gmt":"2015-02-03T22:00:44","slug":"cientificos-argentinos-desarrollan-un-biofertilizante-que-resiste-metales-pesados-y-sequia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/patagoniambiental.com.ar\/info\/cientificos-argentinos-desarrollan-un-biofertilizante-que-resiste-metales-pesados-y-sequia\/","title":{"rendered":"Cient\u00edficos Argentinos desarrollan un biofertilizante que resiste metales pesados y sequ\u00eda"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Viedma &#8211; Cient\u00edficos de la Universidad Nacional de R\u00edo Cuarto y el CONICET eval\u00faan un biofertilizante para las producciones manisera y sojera de la provincia de C\u00f3rdoba, donde la posible contaminaci\u00f3n de los cultivos por ars\u00e9nico y el estr\u00e9s por sequ\u00eda constituyen una problem\u00e1tica para la regi\u00f3n.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los cultivos de soja y man\u00ed son los motores m\u00e1s importantes que activan la producci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola de la provincia de C\u00f3rdoba; de hecho, la industria manisera local es la tercera a nivel mundial. Sin embargo, existen condiciones particulares que se transforman en serios obst\u00e1culos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La sequ\u00eda es uno de los factores que afecta a la regi\u00f3n en forma impredecible y en per\u00edodo intermitente casi todos los a\u00f1os. Las restricciones h\u00eddricas se traducen en p\u00e9rdidas en el rendimiento poniendo de manifiesto la gravedad de la situaci\u00f3n para la econom\u00eda regional.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Otro de los \u201cestreses ambientales\u201d que afecta a esta zona de producci\u00f3n es la presencia de metales pesados y metaloides, en particular el ars\u00e9nico. Esta caracter\u00edstica resulta en un serio riesgo ambiental y sanitario, ya que el elemento t\u00f3xico puede ser incorporado y transferirse desde la planta al consumidor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En la provincia de C\u00f3rdoba, el ars\u00e9nico est\u00e1 presente en aguas de pozo o excavaciones destinadas al consumo humano y animal en niveles que, en algunos departamentos, superan el valor m\u00e1ximo permitido en agua de consumo establecido en los art\u00edculos 982 y siguientes del C\u00f3digo Alimentario Argentino (FAO. OMS-OPS. 2007). Debido a la sequ\u00eda que afecta a la regi\u00f3n y que una alternativa es la utilizaci\u00f3n de sistemas de riego artificial, el uso de aguas contaminadas agrava la situaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ante esta situaci\u00f3n, cient\u00edficas de la Universidad Nacional de R\u00edo Cuarto (UNRC) y CONICET est\u00e1n seleccionando microorganismos para su uso como biofertilizante que mejora el rendimiento de los cultivos y les otorga una mayor tolerancia ante los efectos del ars\u00e9nico y la sequ\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En di\u00e1logo con la Agencia CTyS, la doctora en Ciencias Biol\u00f3gicas e investigadora del CONICET, Eliana Bianucci, cuenta que \u201cel biofertilizante se formular\u00e1 con aquel microorganismo que presente la mayor tolerancia al ars\u00e9nico y que, en interacci\u00f3n con la planta, sea capaz de promover el crecimiento del cultivo bajo condiciones de estr\u00e9s por sequ\u00eda y ars\u00e9nico.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los microorganismos presentes en el biofertilizante tienen una caracter\u00edstica peculiar: la capacidad de fijar nitr\u00f3geno, un elemento qu\u00edmico que constituye el 78 por ciento del aire atmosf\u00e9rico. \u201cEsos organismos toman el nitr\u00f3geno atmosf\u00e9rico y lo transforman en un nitr\u00f3geno asimilable para la planta; de esa manera, \u00e9sta crece mejor\u201d, explica Bianucci.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Si bien, estos microorganismos son muy utilizados para la producci\u00f3n, lo nuevo que aportan los investigadores es la utilizaci\u00f3n de cepas de rizobios espec\u00edficos para cultivo de man\u00ed y soja, respectivamente \u201cque disminuyan la absorci\u00f3n del metaloide por parte de la planta y de esta manera se limite la translocaci\u00f3n del ars\u00e9nico al fruto, adem\u00e1s de promover el crecimiento vegetal en condiciones de estr\u00e9s por sequ\u00eda\u201d subraya la microbi\u00f3loga.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El biofertilizante formulado para ser inoculado a las semillas de man\u00ed y soja, respectivamente, se aplicar\u00e1 acompa\u00f1ado de un osmoprotector a base de alginato el cual podr\u00eda otorgar una mayor viabilidad a los microorganismo hasta el momento de la germinaci\u00f3n de la semilla en condiciones ambientales adversas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Este proyecto, que se encuentra en la primera fase de investigaci\u00f3n, es uno de los ganadores del Concurso INNOVAR 2014.
