{"id":80647,"date":"2024-03-13T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-13T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/patagoniambiental.com.ar\/info\/?p=80647"},"modified":"2024-08-13T13:09:51","modified_gmt":"2024-08-13T16:09:51","slug":"descubren-elemento-que-puede-producir-mas-energia-que-el-hidrogeno","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/patagoniambiental.com.ar\/info\/descubren-elemento-que-puede-producir-mas-energia-que-el-hidrogeno\/","title":{"rendered":"Descubren elemento que puede producir m\u00e1s energ\u00eda que el hidr\u00f3geno"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-se-podria-tratar-de-un-paso-importante-en-el-area-de-la-nbsp-fusion-nuclear\"><strong>Se podr\u00eda tratar de un paso importante en el \u00e1rea de la<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>fusi\u00f3n nuclear<\/strong>.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Buenos Aires-(Nomyc)-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pppl.gov\/research\/projects\/lithium-tokamak-experiment\">Cient\u00edficos del&nbsp;Laboratorio de F\u00edsica del Plasma de Princeton (PPPL)<\/a>&nbsp;descubrieron que el&nbsp;litio l\u00edquido&nbsp;puede ser la clave para hacer que la energ\u00eda de fusi\u00f3n sea m\u00e1s efectiva que nunca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pero qu\u00e9 es la energ\u00eda de fusi\u00f3n: la fusi\u00f3n nuclear es como el proceso que alimenta al sol y que en lugar de quemar combustibles como lo hacemos en la mayor\u00eda de nuestras centrales el\u00e9ctricas, la energ\u00eda de&nbsp;fusi\u00f3n&nbsp;combina&nbsp;\u00e1tomos&nbsp;para liberar una cantidad masiva de energ\u00eda, por lo que es una forma poderosa y limpia de generar electricidad sin las emisiones da\u00f1inas asociadas a los combustibles f\u00f3siles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahora, los cient\u00edficos utilizaron dispositivos llamados&nbsp;\u201ctokamaks\u201d&nbsp;para tratar de hacer que la fusi\u00f3n nuclear sea pr\u00e1ctica y asequible y estos aparatos utilizan campos magn\u00e9ticos para mantener y controlar algo llamado&nbsp;plasma, que es esencialmente gas caliente compuesto por part\u00edculas cargadas el\u00e9ctricamente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con la idea de contener la energ\u00eda liberada durante la fusi\u00f3n para que podamos aprovecharla de manera controlada, aqu\u00ed es donde entra en juego el litio l\u00edquido y en el&nbsp;Experimento&nbsp;Beta Tokamak&nbsp;de&nbsp;Litio&nbsp;(LTX-beta), los investigadores descubrieron que al agregar una capa de&nbsp;litio&nbsp;l\u00edquido&nbsp;a las paredes internas del&nbsp;Tokamak, lograron&nbsp;mantener&nbsp;el&nbsp;plasma caliente&nbsp;en el borde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mantenerlo caliente es crucial para que este enfoque funcione, ya que el litio l\u00edquido act\u00faa como un tipo de escudo para las paredes internas del&nbsp;dispositivo, protegi\u00e9ndolas del&nbsp;intenso&nbsp;calor&nbsp;del&nbsp;plasma&nbsp;y,&nbsp;de manera sorprendente, absorbiendo el&nbsp;40 por ciento&nbsp;de los iones de&nbsp;hidr\u00f3geno&nbsp;expulsados por el&nbsp;plasma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para qu\u00e9 sirve el descubrimiento: resulta que el litio l\u00edquido puede hacer que todo el proceso sea m\u00e1s eficiente y rentable, ya que se podr\u00edan hacer m\u00e1quinas&nbsp;m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as y m\u00e1s baratas&nbsp;para aprovechar la&nbsp;energ\u00eda&nbsp;de&nbsp;fusi\u00f3n, lo que a su vez, podr\u00eda hacer que esta&nbsp;tecnolog\u00eda&nbsp;sea m\u00e1s&nbsp;accesible&nbsp;y&nbsp;atractiva&nbsp;para&nbsp;gobiernos&nbsp;e&nbsp;industrias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No solo teor\u00eda: el descubrimiento se present\u00f3 en una reuni\u00f3n importante de f\u00edsica y se publicaron en la revista&nbsp;Nuclear Materials and Energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El litio l\u00edquido, que ya hab\u00eda sido estudiado en investigaciones anteriores con recubrimientos s\u00f3lidos de litio, demostr\u00f3 ser m\u00e1s adecuado para su uso en tokamaks a gran escala, lo que podr\u00eda significar menos necesidad de reparaciones, ya que act\u00faa como un escudo&nbsp;contra&nbsp;el&nbsp;calor&nbsp;del&nbsp;plasma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bfEl litio mejor que el hidr\u00f3geno? El litio l\u00edquido ayuda a mantener un&nbsp;borde&nbsp;caliente&nbsp;en el&nbsp;plasma, lo que es fundamental para el&nbsp;enfoque&nbsp;\u00fanico de estos&nbsp;dispositivos, ya que con menos iones de hidr\u00f3geno se reciclan en el proceso, enfriando el&nbsp;borde&nbsp;del&nbsp;plasma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esto significa que, la&nbsp;temperatura&nbsp;en el&nbsp;borde&nbsp;est\u00e1 m\u00e1s cerca de la&nbsp;temperatura&nbsp;en el centro del plasma, con lo que se evitan problemas&nbsp;y el proceso es m\u00e1s&nbsp;estable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El litio l\u00edquido tambi\u00e9n tiene otra ventaja ya que, cuando le dispararon part\u00edculas neutras de alta energ\u00eda al plasma para calentarlo, el&nbsp;litio&nbsp;l\u00edquido&nbsp;permiti\u00f3 un aumento significativo en la&nbsp;densidad&nbsp;del&nbsp;plasma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En cambio, el litio s\u00f3lido solo mostr\u00f3 un peque\u00f1o aumento en la densidad y este es un punto importante porque una mayor&nbsp;densidad del plasma significa m\u00e1s energ\u00eda que podemos aprovechar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fuente:
