Este es uno de los resultados de la plataforma MapBiomas Chile (<a href=\"http:\/\/chile.mapbiomas.org\/\">chile.mapbiomas.org<\/a>), que recoge una gran cantidad de informaci\u00f3n sobre uso de suelos, como la extensi\u00f3n de humedales, hielos y glaciares, la cobertura de bosque, la intervenci\u00f3n humana en los territorios, plantaciones forestales, las actividades agropecuarias y silv\u00edcolas hasta pastizales y matorrales, entre otros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La iniciativa nace de la colaboraci\u00f3n entre especialistas en an\u00e1lisis geoespacial, percepci\u00f3n remota, sistemas de informaci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica (SIG) y programaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Universidad de La Frontera, es parte de esta trascendental iniciativa donde junto a la Universidad de Chile, Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n, Universidad de Magallanes, y WWF Chile unieron fuerzas para finalmente realizar recientemente el lanzamiento oficial del proyecto MapBiomas Chile, una herramienta cient\u00edfica que ofrece mapas anuales de cobertura de suelo, proporcionando una visi\u00f3n \u00fanica de la evoluci\u00f3n del territorio chileno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Presente en el lanzamiento realizado en el Sal\u00f3n de Honor de la Casa Central de la Universidad de Chile en Santiago, el Decano de la Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias y Medioambiente de la UFRO, Dr. Adison Altamirano, recalc\u00f3 que esta iniciativa de investigaci\u00f3n y desarrollo colaborativa entre universidades, ongs y empresas tecnol\u00f3gicas proporcionar\u00e1 de manera permanente series hist\u00f3ricas de datos y mapas anuales de cobertura de suelo y en esa importante acci\u00f3n la Universidad de la Frontera, se hace part\u00edcipe a trav\u00e9s del Laboratorio de Ecolog\u00eda del Paisaje y Conservaci\u00f3n, que precisamente dirige.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan indic\u00f3, \u201ccomo Universidad debemos sentirnos orgullosos, son s\u00f3lo 4 universidades participantes de todo Chile y una de ellas, es la nuestra. En esta primera colecci\u00f3n nos correspondi\u00f3 mapear o hacernos cargo desde la regi\u00f3n de la Araucan\u00eda a Los Lagos\u201d, inform\u00f3 el Decano quien en la ceremonia inaugural valor\u00f3 junto a dem\u00e1s autoridades los concluyentes resultados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por su parte, el Dr. Alejandro Miranda, del Departamento de Ciencias Forestales de la UFRO e investigador iniciativa Mapbiomas, sostuvo que \u00abla gobernanza de proyectos tan grandes y con tantas instituciones participantes es compleja y ha ido cambiando desde que comenzamos. Cada pa\u00eds ha ido incorporando su propia idiosincrasia en la gesti\u00f3n local de MapBiomas, pero siguiendo lineamientos generales desde Mapbiomas central. El producto generado en su etapa inicial podr\u00eda ser utilizado por m\u00faltiples actores desde la ciencia, servicios p\u00fablicos y el sector productivo, pero a su vez desde los usuarios ir generando necesidades de informaci\u00f3n que las futuras colecciones pueden abordar como en la agricultura, aguas continentales, incendios, infraestructura, entre otros.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-resultados\"><strong>RESULTADOS<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La primera colecci\u00f3n de mapas anuales de cobertura y uso del suelo entreg\u00f3 los primeros resultados desde el a\u00f1o 2000 hasta el 2022 y brindan una visi\u00f3n \u00fanica de la evoluci\u00f3n del territorio chileno en un contexto de cambio clim\u00e1tico y megasequ\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M\u00e1s de medio mill\u00f3n de hect\u00e1reas de bosque nativo chileno se perdieron en la zona Centro-Sur del pa\u00eds, entre Valpara\u00edso y Los Lagos, en las \u00faltimas dos d\u00e9cadas. Este es uno de los muchos resultados que entrega la plataforma MapBiomas Chile (<a href=\"http:\/\/chile.mapbiomas.org\/\">chile.mapbiomas.org<\/a>), que recoge informaci\u00f3n desde humedales, hielos y glaciares, la cobertura de bosque, la intervenci\u00f3n humana en los territorios, plantaciones forestales, las actividades agropecuarias y silv\u00edcolas hasta pastizales y matorrales, entre otros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En detalle, en el caso de la zona centro-sur, se puede analizar que el cambio m\u00e1s significativo es el retroceso de especies nativas del clima mediterr\u00e1neo. Desde el 2000 se ha perdido cerca del 8% del territorio de bosque nativo (500 mil ha), a pesar de que a nivel nacional es de m\u00e1s de 16,7 millones de hect\u00e1reas. Sin embargo, este contexto se contrapone a la situaci\u00f3n en la Patagonia, Ays\u00e9n y Magallanes, donde los resultados indican un aumento de 450 mil hect\u00e1reas que compensa la p\u00e9rdida de Chile Centro-Sur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mientras que las \u00e1reas con suelo desnudo o des\u00e9rticas representan el 24% del pa\u00eds que se concentran en la zona norte donde representan m\u00e1s de la mitad del territorio (56%). Otro de los resultados destacados, es la situaci\u00f3n de hielos y glaciares, donde existe una p\u00e9rdida neta de cerca del 10% desde el 2000 a la actualidad lo que equivale a m\u00e1s de 410 mil hect\u00e1reas. Adem\u00e1s, el 80% de los glaciares se concentra en la Patagonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fuente: <a
