A diferencia de otros desarrollos, este motor es capaz de utilizar el 100% de hidr\u00f3geno como combustible.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El ingeniero Daniel Baril\u00e1, responsable del proyecto, se\u00f1al\u00f3 a Argentina Investiga que \u201cel uso de hidr\u00f3geno es una alternativa a los problemas de contaminaci\u00f3n que afronta la humanidad ya que al utilizar este combustible, el motor genera b\u00e1sicamente vapor de agua como producto de combusti\u00f3n que es desechado por el escape.<\/p>\n<p>En caso de utilizar hidr\u00f3geno obtenido de electr\u00f3lisis del agua, el ciclo es ecol\u00f3gicamente sustentable ya que el agua generada por la combusti\u00f3n es equivalente a la utilizada en el proceso de obtenci\u00f3n del hidr\u00f3geno a trav\u00e9s de electr\u00f3lisis\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>La adaptaci\u00f3n de un motor convencional para que pueda utilizar hidr\u00f3geno involucra modificaciones de importancia en el sistema de alimentaci\u00f3n, que debe ser adaptado a las caracter\u00edsticas espec\u00edficas de este combustible.<\/p>\n<p>Si se pretende obtener una potencia similar a la que el motor entrega cuando emplea hidrocarburos, debe desarrollarse un sistema de inyecci\u00f3n electr\u00f3nica de combustible sincronizada.<\/p>\n<p>La Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda decidi\u00f3 incursionar en la investigaci\u00f3n de este tipo de motores y para ello implement\u00f3 una serie de equipos y dispositivos que permiten desarrollar las actividades experimentales asociadas a dicha investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Para esto, se adecu\u00f3 un motor monocil\u00edndrico de 337 cm c\u00fabicos, se modificaron sus sistemas de control de potencia, se dise\u00f1\u00f3 un sistema de inyecci\u00f3n electr\u00f3nica espec\u00edfico para las nuevas condiciones de operaci\u00f3n y se construy\u00f3 un banco dinamom\u00e9trico el\u00e9ctrico adaptado a las necesidades espec\u00edficas de los ensayos a realizar.<\/p>\n<p>Se realizaron modificaciones en la tapa de cilindro para poder sensar la presi\u00f3n instant\u00e1nea en el cilindro y se llevaron a cabo las correspondientes mediciones de prestaciones del motor adaptado.<\/p>\n<p>A diferencia de otros desarrollos, este motor es capaz de utilizar el 100% de hidr\u00f3geno como combustible y es por esto que, debido a sus caracter\u00edsticas como su baja densidad y baja energ\u00eda de ignici\u00f3n, es necesario desarrollar sistemas especiales para lograr un correcto funcionamiento del motor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Importancia regional<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Este desarrollo resulta estrat\u00e9gico en la regi\u00f3n, dado que posee uno de los potenciales e\u00f3licos m\u00e1s altos del mundo, como es sabido, la generaci\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica a trav\u00e9s de aeroturbinas puede ser \u201cinyectada\u201d al sistema el\u00e9ctrico en funci\u00f3n de la demanda, pero tambi\u00e9n puede \u201calmacenarse\u201d mediante la producci\u00f3n de hidr\u00f3geno a trav\u00e9s del proceso de electr\u00f3lisis.<\/p>\n<p>De esta manera, el hidr\u00f3geno se convierte en un \u201cvector energ\u00e9tico\u201d con capacidad de almacenamiento de energ\u00eda que puede ser aprovechada como combustible.<\/p>\n<p>En la regi\u00f3n existen dos plantas productoras de hidr\u00f3geno, la experimental de Pico Truncado y la planta de la empresa Hychico (grupo Capsa) en Comodoro Rivadavia. Con este desarrollo, la UNPSJB, se posiciona en un \u00e1rea de investigaci\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica dentro del desarrollo de energ\u00edas limpias y ecol\u00f3gicamente sustentables.<\/p>\n<p>La construcci\u00f3n se realiz\u00f3 en los laboratorios de la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda en la sede Comodoro Rivadavia y una parte importante de este desarrollo se enmarc\u00f3 en el proyecto de fin de carrera de cuatro alumnos de Ingenier\u00eda Mec\u00e1nica, Mat\u00edas Llansa, Maximiliano Bossolasco, William Hughes y Germ\u00e1n Soria.<\/p>\n<p>En los desarrollos electr\u00f3nicos participaron
